The Faculty of Commerce and Business has pioneered in this country to initiate specialized Master Programs in management. The Department has been the torchbearer of two such Programs – MBA in International Business (formerly known as MIB) and MBA in HRD (formerly known as MHROD). These programs stand out as leading courses that are run from the Delhi School of Economics, which has produced great intellectuals and leaders. These two professional courses have been emulated by many other universities in this country. We have also produced many great scholars and industry leaders. The main idea behind these courses is to produce good managers. The Department has been going to new heights with the help of its faculty and students. The environs and faculty have given the students such learning and values.
As a message to the prospective recruiters, I would like to say that the Department of Commerce is one of the oldest and most established Department in the country. The rich tradition of this institution and the dynamic developments in the curriculum of the courses of our Department hold an ideal combination for producing managers who can face the challenges of the real world of business. Our placement record is enviable. Our students have the best of exposure. They have participated in the most competitive events and won prizes. Their education is complete and wellrounded because of many additional activities. We have produced good human beings based on the best of knowledge and value-based orientation of the education that they have received I would like to convey my best wishes to the current batch of emerging MBA-IB & MBA-HRD students who are passing out of these programs. May they have a life full of challenges and yet have the most professionally satisfying careers.
